Stepping Stone Ranch

  Horseman Guest Camping

Be a Horseman Guest at the Ranch

In the last few years we have opened our farm to our equine travelers!! Stepping Stone Ranch is nestled within Rhode Island’s 1700 acre Arcadia Management State Park with endless dirt roads, trails, rock ledges, rivers, ponds and breathtaking New England scenery. Arcadia Park is the state’s largest recreational area, and is located in the western part of the state. Although the forests of West Greenwich are displaced from the ocean tides, the park has been voted time and again at multiple venues for any outdoorsman destination. We “horse people” have been riding these woods for decades, and the Ranch offers all access to it’s beauty. Our trail heads are right off property and any of our guests and clients can happily ride right off into the forest from the farm property.

Horse Stabling

Your horses are welcome to stay self-contained within any portable paddock you have brought along (electric or paneling). You may also rent a stall for $15.00 a night, and your equine friends will stay within our main barn for a good night’s rest. You also have the opportunity to rent one of our wooden fenced paddocks for $20.00 a night that comfortably holds 2 horses.

All of your horses of course, must be up-to-date on all health papers for traveling. You must provide your own feed and care for your animals. You are responsible for feeding and cleaning your own rented stall and upon departure from the Ranch, your stall must be free of any excess debris or manure. If you would like us (the ranch staff) to feed or muck your horse’s stall we are more than happy to accommodate any needs for a small fee.

Camping:

At this time, the farm does not have trailer hook-ups, so all guest campers must be self-contained or run off a generator (no restricted hours), However, we are conveniently located right across the street from Oak Embers Campground, which is a full service facility with electric and water hookups if you would prefer such amenities. Otherwise you may park right here at the farm property.

Our clients and staff always enjoy new travelers and on most days, (schedule permitting) we would be thrilled to tag along on a trail ride and show you the sights!

To Make Reservations:

The Ranch requires a minimum 2 week notice for reservations in most situations. If you plan on renting stalls and have more than 2 horses, a 3 week call-ahead would be appreciated to accommodate space. We do require a confirmed phone call for an arrival date so that we can happily welcome your arrival. If you have more detailed questions that were not addressed, please feel free to call or email us. We are a safety-first barn so we hope that our guests will read and respect our barn rules upon arrival and become part of our extended barn family!! We have many guests that have become “Come Again Friends” that visit us on a regular yearly schedule and we love hearing all the stories from the road!

Hope to see you soon! Happy Trails!

Horseman Guests at Stepping Stone Ranch We had a wonderful experience at Stepping Stone Ranch this past weekend we were so impressed by the kindness and gentle spirit of your staff and clientele.

The trails were amazing - wish we had time to explore more - but we will be back next year I am sending off a check for 100.00 as promised to be used for Osage. Whatever her fate - she is loved and her best interest is the goal..

Kindest Regards,
Isabelle & Berry Slik Willie ("willie")
